Who we are

At True, we work a little differently from your typical residential architectural designers.

Our team is dedicated to giving Kiwis the homes of their dreams with designs that are just as beautiful and unique as they are accurate, reliable and cost-effective.

We’re pretty big on relationships, which is why we’re always on the hunt for building partners. We believe that a great building project starts with great design. That’s why when we design beautiful homes, we do it with our builders in mind.

Director

Jarrad has a unique combination of industry experience, with a background in quantity surveying and running his own home building company in Wellington. He became frustrated with the high number of plans that come across his desk that are designed way over budget and lack the detail to price or build the homes.

Seeing a gap in the market to address these pain points of builders and developers, and knowing from personal experience what they need, Jarrad established True Architecture. With over 40 homes on the go at a time, Jarrad has first-hand experience in how important it is to have plans that are easy to read, well detailed, designed to the budget, and how critical it is to work with designers who can provide such plans within good time frames.

Jarrad explains, “our clients trust us to design and build their homes to their scope and budget. Slow turnaround times on design can dampen the enthusiasm of our clients, reducing their confidence in the builder and often leading them to shopping around for others to price their homes. And homes that are not designed to a client’s budget never get built. The partnership between the builders and the designer is critical to ensure that designs are turned around quickly and within budget. This ensures a really happy client and a better conversion rate from design to actually building the plans — Everyone wins.”
